Unicorn Frappuccinos have hit your local Starbucks, and your social media feed is going berserk. Some of us are calling into question those darn sneaky ingredients (I mean the thing doesn't actually have real fruit in it - just saying.) I myself have not tried it - nor do I plan to. But don't get me wrong - treats like this are so tempting! So, I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and give it my best shot. Whipping together my own concoction that still is pretty, but does the body good. We can have the best of both worlds, except this smoothie is not changing colors friends - we have to be okay with that. You may notice that the colors aren't as bold - that's because I didn't use any food coloring, just Mother Nature's good ole fruits.

This recipe is just for pure kicks and giggles. There's no exact method to the madness, but the point is to prove it's possible to make a healthy twist. You can have your unicorn frap and eat it too. I don't advise you to drink this for a morning smoothie unless you're that awesome and you like sprinkles and whipped cream for breakfast. I made this dessert for us to feel like the goddess we are - inside and out. Have Fun!

Perfect for:

  • Parties
  • Kids activity
  • Indulging when you need a sweet treat
  • Party of one and some Netflix

What you'll need:

Layer 1:

  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1 1/2 cup of frozen mango
  • handful of frozen raspberries
  • 1 tbsp of beet coloring or juice
  • handful of blueberries

Layer 2:

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • half of a frozen banana
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk

Layer 3

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 6-8 drops of liquid chlorophyll or spirulina
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk

Layer 4

  • whipped coconut cream (optional)

Directions:

Blend each layer's ingredients together separately, and set all aside in the freezer. Once you've made all the layers, you can take them out and stack them in a cup. For the coconut whipped cream, I just used store bought, but you can always make your own in a pinch. Get creative! I even dusted it with some sprinkles for some extra flare.

Drink up! No sugar highs, no nasty ingredients. Just fruity goodness!
