10 Quotes to Lift Your Spirits

Have you ever had one of those days were you literally find yourself in a funk? It feels easier to duck and cover then put yourself out there. For me, those days look like staying in bed, wrapped up in a warm cocoon of blankets, instead of facing the day to take the next big step on the other side of fear. I've been there. Fear is ugly. It can play a big role in our quality of life & even at times cause our vessel to stall out, completely causing us to miss out on the beauty life has in store for us. As humans, we all have been face to face with fear. I personally had a fear of starting this blog. Would anyone care? My voice doesn't matter. These very thoughts pass through my brain. "Holy moly I'm putting myself out ther , people can criticize me or throw shade at my work." But  remembering that a thought is just a thought, nothing more a then a thought. It does not define you or control you. With a change of focus, we can make a choice to direct our energy into a positive direction and get our wheels moving once again. Even if it means jumping out of your warm bed into the cold winter air, trust me. Although it may seem tempting, there is something beautiful on other side of the covers. What is it you may ask?

Soul Changing Experience

Below are some quotes from light makers that have made an impact. Words that have helped me get out of the depths of my head and back into the space of gratitude, acceptance & possibilities.  I hope you find some relief my friend. Trust the journey & just breathe. Things are unfolding before you.

"I heard a voice that told me that I'm essential. How all my fears are limiting my potential. Said its time to step into the light and use every bit of power I have inside."
- Inde Arie

"Fear is often excitement without the brakes on. It's just energy. Fear can be instructive and directive. Its a guide that'll show you exactly where you have to go."

-Marie Forleo

“The dark does not destroy the light; it defines it. It's our fear of the dark that casts our joy into the shadows.”

"Fear comes from the heart. If ever you feel overcome by dread of some illness or accident, you should inhale and exhale deeply, slowly, and rhythmically several times, relaxing with each exhalation. This helps the circulation to become normal. If your heart is truly quiet you cannot feel fear at all."
-Paramahansa Yoganandya

“There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.”

- John Lennon

“The Ego, however, is not who you really are. The ego is your self-image; it is your social mask; it is the role you are playing. Your social mask thrives on approval. It wants control, and it is sustained by power, because it lives in fear.”

- Deepak Chopra

“Positive energy is like muscle. The more you use it the stronger it gets. The stronger it gets, the more powerful you become. Repetition is the key and the more you focus on positive energy the more it becomes your natural state.”

- Jon Gordon

Most of us have two lives: the life we live, and the unlived life within us.”

Reconnect

Happy Sunday everyone!!!

Recently I had a free day and decided to disconnect from my phone, to do list and hectic thoughts.

I chose a bench in a park and just sat. Observed and listened. It's sometimes hard for my brain to stop thinking and not move on to the next moment. But I know that will always be a constant journey with myself. Sitting there I watched as butterflies move from one flower to the next as a breeze moved through the trees. Sounds boring to some but honestly it helped me reconnect with myself.

When you put your phone away and realize what's truly important, all that junk that doesn't serve you in life fades away.

I wonder if we can just sit and be.

Listen not talk.

Accept & not judge.

Simply just be present in the beauty this world provides for us. I come to find my authentic self.

In a world full of disconnect, I find that that I am at my best when I connect with myself first.

Before I go out into the world as a teacher, student, friend, girlfriend, sister, or daughter,

I must have peaceful times of self reflection and realize what I'm grateful for.

Others may find it in daily meditation, exercising, church, spending time with loved ones.

For me it was sitting in with nature.

Moving on throughout this week maybe ask yourself:

"Where do you go to reconnect with yourself?"

"When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others." -Peace Pilgrim
